DARJEELING MARATHON ON 12TH JANUARY DECLARED

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 8th January, 2016: Today Darjeeling police announced the most sought after marathon event to be organized by Darjeeling along with Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA). The buzz was already in the air for quiet sometimes, however, today it was declared officially. The main theme of the event is peace and happiness. The superintendent of Darjeeling Police Mr. Amit P. Javalgi in a press meet addressed the press about the event which will cover a total of 21 kms. The chief guest of the occasion is slated to be the ace Indian runner Shiny Wilson, who will also be flagging off the marathon on 12th January from Sukhia Pokhri. However, participation will not be free of cost. The registration fee kept is Rs. 250/- however, there are considerations on behalf of Darjeeling Police about the ability of the participants who can pay or who can’t. On the other hand, the cash prize worth lakhs of rupees is awaiting the winners at the end.
